Les biscuits de Zilia

Helping to tidy up belongings in an old family house, I discovered an old book of bygone recipes. One of them particularly caught my attention: La Cuggiole. Several months and a whole range of trials and tastings later, Cuggiulella was born, a respectful, harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, a link between past and present.

A story to get your teeth into

Right in the heart of Balagne, a true paradise in Corsica, stands Les Biscuits de Zilia, a family business that’s been going for more than twenty years thanks to Cuggiulella.

Since 1997, Sandrine and Jean-Noël Santelli, joined by their daughter Camille for several years, have continued to produce the legendary Cuggiulelle, inspired by the recipes of Jean-Noël\'s grandfather. This traditional Corsican biscuit will delight fans as well as the uninitiated, curious to try it for themselves.

An idyllic environment

The fragrant maquis fills Sandrine and Jean-Noël's senses. Their taste buds tingle amidst the highly productive fruit trees, almond, hazel and majestic chestnut trees. Their creativity is firmly rooted in this fertile land with its luxuriant flora, dotted with beautiful villages clinging to the rocks with views of the sea.
